The Missing by C L Taylor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Missing is one of those books that leaves you feeling shocked, sad but overall well-satisfied. The story follows the disappearance of a fifteen year old boy and how the family are coping six months on, with particular focus on the mother, Claire. However, this is no ordinary disappearance because someone in the family was involved, and Claire is determined to get to the bottom of it.
The chapters are permeated by snippets of text messages which keep you guessing until the end who are the two people involved in the conversation. The overall pace of the book was kept together well and I've read many domestic thrillers where plot disintegrated at the end, so bravo to the author and editors for a well-rounded book.
This is definitely one you have to read, I just didn't want to put it down and was sad to have finished it. It's the first book I've read by C L Taylor, but it certainly won't be the last.
