I love David Mitchell and his quirky ideas. My particular favourite is Number 9 Dream – which I studied at university. The Bone Clocks is now also a favourite alongside Cloud Atlas (of which the movie is equally great too).

Mitchell creates really interesting and intricate characters: each are so unique, yet so real. His imagination scoops up all his characters and weaves them into a beautiful and complicated sequence of time – a magical narrative split into different sections. I love how his plot is so well planned out, it just makes it more readable for the reader – to just sit there and enjoy his words as they roll on the page.

All of Mitchell’s books have been set in a beautiful arrangement of time, especially Cloud Atlas which links the theme of love and time together. So if you are one of the ones who have read David Mitchell before, then this definitely should be on your list right now.
